The Team

Hairdressing is my passion; I love to make someone look good and feel more confident about themselves.

I’m always been artistic so i love colouring hair and now these new techniques of freehand colouring painting onto the hair is something I love. Balayage and ombre techniques are giving me such job satisfaction.

I always try and advance my career and have been on many advanced training sessions. Last year applied to get through to be a session stylist at London fashion week and made it through. I’ve learnt with some of the best hairdressers in the business like Steven Smart, John Vial, Alexander Turnbull, Shelley Pengelly, Patrick Cameron and Steven Shaw. I feel there’s always more to learn from this industry and that’s what make it the best job for me.

I’m a happy fun-loving a little mad but will give you my best service and advice. If you want personal caring hairdresser with year of experience I’m here to help. Bigwigs looks forward to meeting you

Kim 'Kimbo'

Welcome to bigwigs, I’m Kim, I have been part of the bigwigs team since I was 15, my hairdressing journey started off with work experience then Saturday girl, trainee to stylist which means I hold my nvq level 2 in hairdressing.

I also have achieved my level 3 and accessors qualification and worked for a local college but I soon returned to the team and have shared many other life experiences with the girls, as I now hold another title as ‘mum and wife’to three beautiful children, two girls and a boy and and a very lucky husband, we share our home with two doggies a Dalmatian and springer spaniel, so never a dull moment in our household, all fun and games. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog, I look forward to welcoming you to salon and let’s talk about hair!

Avril Terry

I have been hairdressing since I left school, I did my training at hair academy South West Taunton. I worked in local salon in Taunton for 8 years before I joined the Bigwigs team in September 2015. I am NVQ level 2 and 3 qualified. I have also qualified in Rapture tape in hair extensions, as well as been in various training courses. In my time as being a hairdresser I have mentored new students for a year to help them learn the basics of hairdressing.

Lisa Pavey

I’m Lisa, I’ve been at Bigwigs since 2004.  I have just had a year off to have my baby girl “Arabella”.  I have returned to the Salon and feel like I have never been away and am very much enjoying being back a few days a week!  I love being a mummy, but also love being back with the girls at Bigwigs.
I first started here at Bigwigs at the age of 19 after having a few different jobs!  Hairdressing has always been something I have been passionate about and working in a team of great friends makes my job very enjoyable.
We are all very close and work well together.  Our work is taken seriously, but we all also know how to have a good laugh, which helps make the Salon environment very comfortable and fun for our clients!

Lauren Coles

Lauren has been working at Bigwigs since September 2011, when she began her apprenticeship, completing three years of training to get her level 3 NVQ in hairdressing. Since finishing the compulsory two years, and optional third year, she has continued to advance her skills and has completed advanced cutting, barbering and colouring courses and is also now qualified in Rapture tape in hair extensions.

While being a senior stylist may shock clients at first sight, due to her baby face and petite sizing, her work definitely proves her dedication, inspiration and understanding of client goals and what can or can’t be achieved, which is an important ability to possess as a stylist. While being trained in all aspects and is happy to take on anything that is thrown her way, colour is her true passion and she specialises in balayage.

Hi my name is Claire.

I will post my details shortly

Hi I came to bigwigs first for work experience from school, after enjoying it so much and getting on well with the team I joined the staff as a Saturday girl in 2016. I began my apprenticeship then on leaving school with bigwigs where I’ve achieved level 2 city and guilds and numerous independent courses. I’m now qualified in rapture hair extensions which I really enjoy the instant change this can make to someone’s hair.

I have always had a massive passion for hairdressing from a young girl. It’s the greatest feeling after doing someone’s hair and seeing their face light up and looking confident and happy. Even though I may be a chatterbox I will spend time listening to you fully on what you desire your hair to be like and giving you the best service possible. Newly qualified I buzzing to get my career in hairdressing progressing to the highest level.

Hi my name is Millie and I am 16 and just starting out in my dream job.

I started working at Bigwigs in November 2019 while also attending Bridgwater College studying for my Level 2 VRQ Diploma in Hairdressing. In my spare time I enjoy playing netball for a local league.

I love hairdressing it is all I have ever wanted to do for as long as I can remember. I especially enjoy learning about colouring and seeing the transformation that a different colour can make to someone’s hair.

I love being part of the Bigwigs team and am very excited to carry on learning new techniques and creating new styles. The girls here have welcomed me into the team and helped me build my confidence. I also enjoy chatting with the clients and making them feel comfortable whilst in the salon.

I am a very bubbly and friendly person and this helps me with my job.

I cannot wait to qualify and to be able to have my own clients here at Bigwigs.
